For Sal, the founder and owner of The Homestead Pantry Box, the saying “The kitchen is the heart of the home” rings true. She believes that life is too short to spend time dreading what should be one of the most joyful places in the house. Sal’s passion for cooking and sharing that joy with others led to the creation of the Homestead Pantry Box, an online pantry shop filled with Australia’s favourite pantry staples.
Sal's journey started when she moved to Australia from England after falling in love with a country boy from Bourke. But it wasn't just her husband who captured her heart; Australia itself, with its vibrant food culture, played a huge role. Sal spent four years as a cook and butcher on a station in far North Queensland and many more years in the food industry in England before settling in the Riverina of New South Wales. Today shes still married to that once-wild Bourke boy (now a bit more tamed) and is raising three gorgeous bush kids of their own.
As a mother of three, a wife to a farmer, and a business owner, she knows all too well the daily hustle of juggling roles while trying to get good food on the table every day. Planning, cooking, and ensuring the family eats well can be exhausting. That's why she understands the challenges that so many face when it comes to creating healthy, home-cooked meals.
