Did you attend the weekend?

We’d love to hear what filled your heart and what you’d love to see next. The Riverina Good Food Weekend is just the beginning, a glimpse into the people, places and flavours that make our region come alive, with so many more local producers and real stories waiting to be discovered.

Why a good food weekend?

the story

The Riverina's culinary treasures are the best-kept secret in NSW, with incredible growers and makers behind each farm gate. The Riverina Good Food Weekend was dreamed up by local foodies passionate about celebrating (and sharing!) our local food bowl. So they invited a celebrity chef and created an event as an excuse for locals to invite city friends to visit for the weekend for a magical culinary adventure...

••

Our inaugural weekend launched with the Riverina Long Lunch with Celebrity chef Charly Pretet from Terra Firma. We enjoyed flame-kissed magic, an unforgettable feast in amongst golden canola fields. Putting us elbow-to-elbow with the very people who grow your dinner - because where else can you literally meet your meal's maker. Slow dining at its most genuine, where the view changes with the light and every bite tells a story.

••

Sunday was filled with adventure and discovery on the Canola Trail X Growers Sunday Drive. With access to behind the Farm Gate experiences, meet the maker tours and loads of activities for the kids.

This debut weekend wasn't just about exceptional food - it was about celebrating what makes the Riverina so special. Come discover why we're passionate about sharing this magic, and help continue what we hope will become the region's most beloved foodie tradition.

The Growers & Makers

The Riverina Good Food Weekend would not have been possible with our local growers, makers, creators & supporters.

What's a food bowl?

Did you know the Riverina is known as the 'Food Bowl of Australia'? It’s one of Australia’s most productive and diverse agricultural regions. The Riverina grows over 25% of NSW’s fruit and veggies, 90% of its citrus, and 80% of its wine grapes! It’s pretty delicious to live in a food bowl! Colour the food bowl for a chance to win!
