Why a good food weekend
The Riverina's culinary treasures are the best-kept secret in NSW, with incredible growers and makers behind each farm gate. The Riverina Good Food Weekend was dreamed up by local foodies passionate about celebrating (and sharing!) our local food bowl. So they invited a celebrity chef and created an event as an excuse for locals to invite city friends to visit for the weekend for a magical culinary adventure... The inaugural weekend launches with the Riverina Long Lunch - where fire meets food on a working family farm between Wagga and Junee. Celebrity chef Charly Pretet from Terra Firma is bringing his flame-kissed magic to create an unforgettable feast under endless country skies, with golden canola fields providing nature's own dinner theatre.

Saturday's communal feast puts you elbow-to-elbow with the very people who grow your dinner - because where else can you literally meet your meal's maker while live music drifts across the paddocks? It's slow dining at its most genuine, where the view changes with the light and every bite tells a story.
••
Sunday flips the script entirely with the Canola Trail X Growers Sunday Drive - think treasure hunt meets foodie adventure. Follow our hand-crafted discovery map to uncover surprise pop-ups, secret farm gates, and those magical moments that happen when you stumble upon something extraordinary among the canola blooms. For the hands-on food lovers, Charly's teaching his exclusive 6-hour Outdoor Cooking Workshop - six hours of French flair meets Aussie fire, where you'll learn why cooking outdoors just tastes better.
